Richard Maestas, of RAM General Contractor, has worked with me on multiple homes. His workmanship is excellent and his demeanor makes it a pleasure to have him in your home. My projects have ranged from new construction to detailed finish work and Richard never fails in exceeding my expectations. I would recommend him without hesitation!
We live in Berkeley and we have known Richard over 11 years. When we moved to our house in Berkeley, we undertook a large remodeling project of the inside of the house. Richard was the chief carpenter at the time with the construction company we contracted with and he knew every inch of the house. About while later after the remodel, Richard became an independent contractor and we have had multiple smaller projects which he took care of. We truly rely on Richard and we trust him not only to do a good job but also trust him to do the right thing for us. We feel very comfortable leaving the house in his hands when we are not around. We had a leak one night was it was raining very hard and he came over in the evening to help set up a canopy as a temporary fix to buy more time.
Without a moment’s passing, I gladly recommend Richard Maestas - founder of RAM General Contractor - for any decent person seeking to renovate his or her home. I certainly have taken my own recommendation - and several times, in fact! I first heard of Richard by word of mouth and through a friend at work. In the few years that I have known him, for just us Richard already has renovated two full bathrooms, sourced and repaired several stubborn water leaks within an exterior “problem” wall, and completely expanded and transformed an activity area that now comprises a quarter of our home. Each one of these projects has required a specific skill set - whether it is paying attention to how we want to have tile finished in the bathroom, understanding the behavior of water and building a structure to minimize its entry, or designing the plumbing in accordance to best function and code. Richard Maestas has demonstrated - time and time again - that he has the knowledge and ability to do it all. I have yet to ask Richard to build a house for me from scratch (and for that he’s going to need a few extra helpers); though if I win the lottery, the project will be his to refuse. For anything less, I’m still going to call Richard for anything construction-related. You should too, as you’ll be glad you did!
